The Islamization of France Proceeds Apace
The phenomenon of “creeping sharia” is well underway in France: “Sharia is taking over France,” by Giulio Meotti, Arutz Sheva, August 26, 2024:
In Trappes all butchers are halal.
Trappes is a town with 32,000 people. 70% of them are Muslims. No wonder all butchers are halal. If any of them had dared to sell pork products, they would be boycotted or, more likely, their shops would be attacked, and even burned to the ground. Trappes, like the city of Dearborn, is now a town where Islam dominates and Muslims rule.
When the Secretary of State for Equality, Marlène Schiappa, decided to move to the city of Trappes for three days to demonstrate attention to cities with a high rate of immigration, she tried to stop in a bar, “where women are not welcome.” The prefect invited the minister to continue on her way “to avoid an accident.”
In other words, Madame Secretary of State for Equality, you’d better get moving. No, there is no equality for women here in Trappes, and that’s the way we Muslims like it. And if you try to enter a place that is for men only, things could get ugly, you could get hurt. So beat it, as the prefect advises, in order “to avoid an accident.” Go back to Paris. This is Trappes. This town now belongs to Islam.
The Algerian poet Kamel Bencheikh denounced what happened to her daughter in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. She “was waiting for the bus with a friend. When he arrived, the driver stopped, looked at them and drove away without opening the door.” The driver told Bencheikh’s daughter, who was wearing a miniskirt: “Dress properly.”
The driver of a public school bus tried to enforce the Muslim dress code for girls and women. He found Kamel Bencheikh’s daughter “immodest” because she was wearing a miniskirt, and refused to pick her up. He violated the law by enforcing his own religious scruples on others. He ought at least to be reprimanded, and at most, fired by the bus company as a warning to others who might be inclined to behave in the same way. France is not an Islamic country — yet.
In Achenheim, Alsace, a little girl was beaten by four Muslims, accused of not having observed the Ramadan fast, as she got off a bus on her way to school….
It’s unclear what her offense was. I assume she was a Muslim girl, and was eating a last bit of her breakfast as she got off the bus. She was thus violating the rules for Ramadan. What matters is what happened next — four Muslims, all males, I suspect — proceeded to beat her when they saw her eating something. She was not being a good Muslim, and deserved what she got. And her assaulters, if they were caught at all, likely were let off with a simple warning.
In Bordeaux, shops have even sprung up that ask “sisters” to come on Saturdays and Sundays and “brothers” on weekdays.
This is a way for Muslims to prevent what they regard as a dangerous mixing of the sexes. Let girls and women shop on weekends, and boys and men shop on weekdays. These shops are owned by Muslims, but how long will it be before pressure from local Muslims forces non-Muslim shop owners to comply with the same rule?
It was the beginning of Ramadan, when the Evian brand published a seemingly banal message: “Retweet if you have already drunk a liter of Evian today.” The advertisement sparked a hate campaign against the Danone subsidiary. Evian is accused of “racism”. Thus, the brand decided to apologize….
The Muslim reasoning appears to be this: the ad urges viewers to drink “a liter of Evian” each day. But it is Ramadan, when Muslims do not eat or drink from dawn to dusk. The ad, according to the Muslim protesters who campaigned against Evian and its parent company Danone, constitutes “racism” because it encourages Muslims to drink water and thereby to violate the rules of Ramadan. Of course, the ad does no such thing. Muslims ought to be able to withstand an advertisement’s messaging. If they can’t, it’s their fault, not that of the billboard campaign for Evian water. Nonetheless, scared of violence by Muslims, the inoffensive marketers of Evian “apologized” for their “offense.”
Butcher shops and restaurants in France are now threatened with attacks by Muslims if they do not remove all haram products, and many promptly comply or, in some cases, they have gone out of business. In Trappes, one of the most heavily Muslim (70%) of French towns, even the Secretary of State for Equality is not welcomed in Muslim-owned “men-only” establishments, but advised to keep moving. A public school bus driver, himself a Muslim, refused to pick up a Muslim girl who was wearing a miniskirt. Immodest, in his view, and therefore haram. In France! A young Muslim girl getting off a school bus was assaulted by four men because she was just finishing part of her breakfast long after dawn, during Ramadan, and she should have been fasting. So she deserved punishment. Again, this happened in France!
In France, 10% of the population is now Muslim. What will happen in ten years? In twenty?
