High Protein Gummies

Food, but make it fun. High protein gummies! I just winged these, shot from the hip, and they turned out pretty good! A fun little snack. This is roughly what I did. 4 whole eggs, 1 cup cottage cheese, 1 cup raw cream/milk, ¼ cup maple syrup, ¼ cup raw honey, dash of vanilla, big pinch of salt, dash of fulvic minerals, and set it with a cup of gelatin.

Certainly you can just eat some cottage cheese, have a glass of milk, make some eggs, etc. but what works for me is to make it fun. To make it interesting. I picked up my silly little owl molds years ago and they have seen all kinds of gummies. From egg nog, to watermelon, to beet kvass, to panna cotta with raw liver.

I like it because it’s easy. As I head out the door I’ll grab a couple of gummies and it is a super easy breakfast snack. Or I’ll throw a couple in with my lunch to have a little treat to go with my pound of beef.

If you’re into nutrient dense cooking, the Weston A Price teachings, healthy cooking, etc it’s been my experience that making gummies is a really fun and interesting way to explore food and cooking. It’s worked really well for me.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole eggs
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup raw cream/milk
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup raw honey
  • dash of vanilla
  • big pinch of salt
  • dash of fulvic mineral
  • set it with a cup of gelatin.

Instructions

  1. Zip everything together in a blender.
  2. Bloom your gelatin and dissolve in just boiled water, stir till all the gelatin is dissolved.
  3. Blend the gelatin into the mixture. And quickly pour into your mold. It’s helpful if the mixture is room temperature and not cold, otherwise the gelatin can start setting up before you can pour it in your mold. I like to do it this way because it keeps everything below about 80⁰ Fahrenheit which is good for the raw dairy and honey.
  4. Typically you would heat the mixture up and dissolve the gelatin into the mixture which would probably pasteurize a lot of the good stuff that I am after. Before adding the gelatin you can taste for sweetness and adjust to your liking, or add more vanilla, or a fruit puree, the world is your oyster.
